A challenging session, the first in many years. I found the nude form very confronting, but gained momentum through timed sketches and a change of drawing medium for every sketch. My first choice of Derwent pencil squeaked on every stroke, slicing at the peace of the quiet studio every time – a terrible choice, making it easy to discard and make room for something else to happen.
